MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota running back Tellis Redmon was arrested for driving without a valid license.

Police stopped Redmon about 10 p.m Saturday night when officers said they saw a television playing inside his car.

Earlier that day, Redmon rushed for 150 yards to lead the Golden Gophers to a 25-16 victory over Penn State.

Officers found Redmon's driver's license has been revoked and he had outstanding warrants from a previous case, according to police and jail records.

Court records show he was cited in the same car July 30 for having a television visible to the driver, a misdemeanor.

It is also the second time Redmon has gone to Hennepin County court for driving with a revoked license. Redmon said Monday he didn't know why his license had been revoked.

In September 1999, he was ticketed for driving after revocation, blocking a public way and having no proof of insurance.

A month later, his case was continued for dismissal, provided he commit no similar offenses during the next year.

Redmon is due in court Friday afternoon for his latest offense, the same day the Gophers travel to Ohio State for Saturday's game.

He said his lawyer is trying to reschedule his court appearance.

Redmon, a sophomore, said Monday he has two televisions mounted inside the back of the headrests in his car, but said they're not visible to the driver.

Minnesota coach Glen Mason refused to comment on Redmon's arrest.
