(Tulsa-AP) -- A Tulsa man wants more time to enter a plea on charges that he took about 250-thousand dollars from senior citizens.

Fifty-one-year-old Len Heinrichs received an extension to November Third to enter a plea in Tulsa County District Court on charges that he falsely represented Youth for Christ.

Documents show that Heinrichs promised a 10 percent to 12 percent return on money loaned to either Tulsa Youth for Christ or Youth for Christ of Northeastern Oklahoma for a 12-month period. Heinrichs guaranteed payment of the interest and the original principal

The T-U Legal Clinic's Older Americans Project became involved when a woman contacted the organization and said she'd given Heinrichs more than 70-thousand dollars in loans in 1997 and 1999.

The Older Americans Project found five other elderly people with similar complaints.

Officials say there appears to be no connection between Heinrichs and two Youth for Christ organizations.
