(Indianapolis-AP) -- Vendors say an Indianapolis trade-show initially expected to draw five thousand teachers and administrators from throughout the Midwest is a bust.

EdTec 2000 was supposed to be a chance for education technology companies to show off their wares this week.

But the 90-some tech vendors say the show at the Indiana Convention Center drew only a few dozen people.

Carla Westphal is a sales rep for a software company called Starship School that paid 14-hundred dollars for its booth. Westphal says it's the worst of hundreds of shows she's been to.

Organizer Courtney Smith of Events Management says he marketed the show by mail, fax, e-mail and an advertisement in a national education magazine. He says he's not sure what went wrong.
