(Tulsa-AP) -- The granddaughter of two New Jersey fugitives recaptured in Tulsa is missing and an investigation is under way.
Authorities say Ernest and Kaia (KI-yuh) Jackson had been caring for eight-year-old Ashani Creighton. The couple was arrested in Tulsa on Monday after 12 years on the run.
New Jersey officials won't say much about where Ashani was last seen or if she is feared harmed. But they say other agencies could become involved in the investigation.
The Jacksons are wanted in New Jersey on charges they harmed their own young son in 1988. The boy told police that he had been beaten and kept in a closet without food for long periods of time.
The Jacksons are fighting their return to that state, however. Prosecutors there say they're in the process of seeking a warrant to bring them back.
