(Dallas-AP) -- Former Oklahoma basketball star Eduardo Najera (NAH'-ha-rah) has signed a two-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks.
The Houston Rockets took Najera as the 38th overall pick before trading him to Dallas.
The 6-foot-8 Najera averaged 18-point-8 points and 9-point-5 rebounds last season as Oklahoma went 27-and-7.
He played power forward at O-U but will have to move to the small forward spot in the pros.
Najera, a native of Chihuahua, Mexico, was a favorite of Mavericks owner Mark Cuban because of his hustle.
