(Tulsa-AP) -- A Tulsa man accused of raping and sexually abusing a teenage girl during an ambulance ride has had the charges against him dropped at the request of prosecutors.
The charges against Jack Miller were dismissed today. Prosecutor Steve Sewell says the case needs further investigation.
Sewell would not say why more investigation is needed.
Miller was an emergency medical technician when the then 14-year-old-girl broke her leg in March, 1999.
The girl claims that while she was sedated and being taken from one hospital to another Miller molested her.
Miller contends he did not touch the girl in any manner that is inconsistent with his job as an emergency medical technician.
Sewell says the case can be refiled pending the results of additional investigation.
