The Oklahoma state attorney general’s office has issued a warning about scam artists in the state. The scam involves credit cards. A person telephones your home pretending to be an employee of your credit card company. He or she then asks you to confirm your credit card number.
Oklahoma State Attorney General Drew Edmondson says it happened the other night to an elderly relative of one of his employees. Luckily, the lady hung up. However, it prompted Edmondson to issue an official warning and a safety reminder to never give your credit card number over the phone, unless you initiated the call.
