BOISE STATE (2-1) AT ARKANSAS (2-0)
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ Boise State defensive back D. Ross, fooled by Robby Hampton's pump fake, fell as he switched directions and Boo Williams trotted into the end zone with a 54-yard touchdown pass that helped Arkansas beat the Broncos 38-31 Saturday night.

The touchdown broke a 31-31 tie with 6:12 to play.

Boise State (2-1) reached the Arkansas 9 with slightly more than a minute to play. On fourth-and-goal from the 9, Arkansas (2-0) called time and then Boise State followed suit.

The Broncos came out with four wide receivers and Bart Hendricks threw to Jay Swillie on the left sideline. Cornerback Eddie Jackson wrestled Swillie out of bounds at the 1.

Arkansas led 24-0 one play deep in the second quarter and 31-14 in the third quarter, but Boise rallied as the Razorbacks suffered three straight breakdowns in the kicking game.

After Cedric Cobbs' second touchdown, Quintin Mikell returned the kickoff 98 yards. Moments later, Richie Butler was slow to pull the trigger on a punt and Travis Burgher blocked it. That led to Nick Calaycay's field goal that made it 31-24. Matt Swartz didn't come close on a 41-yard field goal attempt that would have put Arkansas ahead by 10 and the Broncos immediately covered 74 yards for a tie.

Hendricks was 8-of-21 in the first half against Arkansas, including 2-of-10 in the first quarter, but wound up 23-of-48 for 304 yards.

Jackson returned an interception 39 yards for a touchdown and fellow first-time starter Corey Harris set up a touchdown with an interception seconds later as Arkansas jumped in front 14-0.

The Razorbacks' winning drive included three Cobbs runs for 16 yards and a 14-yard pass from Hampton to Richard Smith. Cobbs finished with 174 yards on 34 attempts.

It was Hampton to Williams for 75 yards that made it 24-0.

The next 20 minutes belonged to the Broncos.

Calaycay kicked two second-quarter field goals and Boise started the second half with a seven-play, 56-yard drive that resulted in the first touchdown Arkansas had allowed in 10 quarters. Boise went for two and the Razorbacks lost Lou Fanucchi, who waited on the right side and then headed left for Hendricks' pass.
