OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Tuttle took sole possession of first place in Class 3A in the latest Oklahoma high school football poll while Paoli moved into the No. 1 spot in Class C. The other No. 1 teams remained unchanged in the poll after the second week of the season.
Tuttle and Seminole had been tied in Class 3A, but Seminole dropped to No. 3 after a 40-14 loss to Class 4A Tecumseh.
Balko dropped out of the rankings in Class C after a 46-0 loss to Waynoka, which moved into the poll in the No. 5 spot.
The other top-ranked teams are Jenks in 6A, El Reno in 5A, Clinton in 4A, Cascia Hall in 2A, Turpin in A and Pioneer in B. All the top teams were unanimous choices in voting by sports writers and sportscasters.
Duncan, ranked No. 9 last week, dropped out of the poll in Class 5A after a 7-0 loss to Woodward while Woodward debuted in the poll in a tie for No. 7. It marked the second week that Woodward had knocked off a ranked opponent. In the first week of the season, Woodward upset defending 4A champion Weatherford in overtime.
Claremore also dropped out of the poll in Class 5A after a 35-25 loss to Tulsa East Central.
In Class 4A, Fort Gibson dropped from No. 3 to No. 8 after losing to Miami 7-6.
In Class 6A, Owasso dropped from No. 5 to No. 8 after a 14-7 loss to Fort Smith (Ark.) Southside
