Eleven people, most of them students, were taken to the hospital after their school bus collided with a truck Friday afternoon.

The accident happened in a construction zone in the 33-hundred block of east Independence near Harvard.

The Director of Transportation for Tulsa Public Schools says the bus was in the right hand lane, which was blocked off by cones.

A truck in the inside lane made a right turn and the bus driver couldn't avoid the collision.

"The bus was coming down in the wrong lane, and then he was trying to cut over. My brother was trying to tell him to cut over. Just as the cones came we smacked into the truck," William Thompson, Will Rogers High School.

The bus was taking the kids home from Will Rogers High School.

Nine students and two adults were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

The bus driver will go before an accident review board.
