Stoops says improvement needed

(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says his team isn't where it needs to be.

After watching yesterday's scrimmage, Stoops said the team will have to keep working on improvements this week.

Stoops said that while he saw some good plays, he saw too many bad ones -- both offensively and defensively.

Co-defensive coordinator Mike Stoops said he thought the offense played well but that meant the defense did not. He says the offense too easily kept the defense off balance.

He blamed missed assignments for the problems.
