CARTHAGE, Texas (AP) — ``Happy Trails'' have led movie legend Dale Evans to the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.
The 87-year-old widow of cowboy star Roy Rogers was one of three performers inducted in weekend ceremonies. Known as ``The Queen of the West,'' she starred in 35 movies and a 1950s television series with her husband and co-wrote the couple's theme song, ``Happy Trails to You.''
Evans, who in recent years has written inspirational books and is host of a religious network talk show, could not attend the ceremony because of health reasons. She underwent surgery to replace her pacemaker last year.
Her husband died in 1998 at age 86.
Charlie Walker and the late Bob Wills were also named to the hall of fame. Previous inductees include Willie Nelson, Gene Autry and Waylon Jennings.
