Father, sons sentenced for money-funneling operation

(Tulsa-AP) -- Three Oklahoma men have been sentenced for trying to evade federal taxes using an illegal money-funneling scheme through a Cayman Islands bank account.

Forty-year-old Robert Mark Kirk, of Owasso, was sentenced in U-S District Court in Tulsa to ten months in custody. The time will be split between prison and electronically monitored home detention.

He was also ordered to pay a fine and make restitution to the Internal Revenue Service.

His brother, 36-year-old Richard Lynn Kirk, of Talala, was ordered to make restitution to the I-R-S.

And the Kirks' father, 59-year-old Samuel R. Kirk, of Collinsville, was also ordered to make restitution.

Richard Kirk and Samuel Kirk were each sentenced to three years'

probation.
