MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- Muskogee County authorities have filed sexual abuse counts against a woman who faces similar charges in Tulsa involving her 12-year-old son.
First-degree rape and forcible sodomy charges were filed Thursday against Catherine Nicholson, 41, in Muskogee County District Court.
Assistant District Attorney David Pierce said Nicholson is accused of raping and orally sodomizing her son between March 1 and March 31. Nicholson, who normally lives in Tulsa, was staying at the motel during a visitation period with her son, who lived with his grandmother.
After Nicholson was arrested in Tulsa on Aug. 4, the boy told police that his mother had had sexual relations with him in Muskogee.
Nicholson faces two charges in Tulsa County of sexually abusing a child and one count of procuring a minor's participation in an obscene video.
The boy told police that since he was 8, his mother had been having sexual relations with him, and that her former boyfriend had sexually abused him 30 or 40 times. The man, Loyd "Buster"
Dowler, has not been charged in the case but is in the Tulsa Jail on unrelated drug and weapons charges.
The boy is now living with another family member.
