(Tulsa-AP) -- A former Broken Arrow school teacher has been sentenced to nine years in prison for molesting a 13-year-old student.

Thirty-four-year-old Cynthia Ann Alexander was also given six years' probation and fined. She was sentenced yesterday.

Alexander had previously waived her right to a trial and entered a no contest plea to three counts.

Alexander was a communications skills instructor and cheerleading coach at Childers Middle School for eleven years. She resigned shortly after she was arrested.

The charges filed against her in November alleged she touched the genital area of an eighth-grade cheerleader four times in a two-week period.
