Tulsa basketball signee switches to Seminole

(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa basketball recruit Ermal Kuqo will play a second season in junior college.

Kuqo said yesterday he will enroll at Seminole State College and play for Chris Beard, who coached him at Fort Scott, Kansas, Community College last season.

The 6-foot-10 Albanian center signed a letter of intent with former Tulsa coach Bill Self last spring. He asked to be released from his commitment after Self became coach at the University of Illinois and assistant Norm Roberts joined Self there.

Self's replacement, Buzz Peterson, had denied Kuqo's request for a release. Kuqo says his decision not to play at Tulsa has nothing to do with Peterson.

Kuqo has three years of eligibility remaining.
