(Tulsa-AP) -- The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives has chosen Tulsa as the site of its annual conference in 2003
Ida Gillis is the president of NOBLE, and Gillis says Tulsa's history, including the Greenwood District being home to the first "Black Wall Street," helped in the decision to meet in Tulsa.
Gillis says the group's policy calls for holding its conventions in large and midsize cities to create maximum exposure. Tulsa was chosen over Cincinnati and Los Angeles to host the 2003 convention.
A minimum of 2,000 people are expected to register.
