(Enid-AP) -- The Enid school accepted the resignation of a junior high school teacher charged with having obscene material
involving children.

Dennis E. Addington was charged in January when a search of his computer turned up a disk containing pictures of two boys involved
in sexual acts.

Addington used his sick leave after his arrest to finish the 1999-2000 school year. He was treated at a local mental hospital after a suicide attempt.

Addington was a mathematics teacher at Waller Junior High School for 26 years.

Superintendent Garland Keithly says the board didn't have grounds to dismiss Addington. The board did not request the
resignation, which was received in a letter last week.
