(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahomans get a little tired of hearing how things are bigger and better south of the Red River. But some Oklahoma football coaches say it really is true.

Texans may not necessarily be more athletically inclined, but school administrators and communities show an appreciation that the coaches say makes all the difference. Ask Bill Dalke.

Dalke joined the Burkburnett Bulldogs just six months ago, after resigning as the coach at Yukon. He hasn't even seen the Bulldogs take a live snap. Yet Dalke says moving to the north Texas school is the best career move he's made.

Coaches say Texas schools offer more salary and better benefits-- enough more that many Oklahoma coaches are traveling south to what they believe are greener pastures.
