CATOOSA, Okla. (AP) -- Southwestern Bell Wireless will break ground Wednesday on a customer service center that will bring about 600 jobs to Catoosa by next year.

The 100,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open by the first quarter of next year, initially employing 450 people, said Bell spokesman Marty Richter. "We'll begin hiring employees toward the end of this year," he said, adding that announcements would be made on how to apply for jobs at that time.

The call center will handle customer service calls from wireless phone customers. Hourly workers will be paid $9 to $10.50 per hour, plus benefits. Management position salaries will range from $28,000 to$50,000 a year.
