(Sacramento, California-AP) -- A former Oklahoma State track and field star has qualified for the steeplechase final at the U-S Olympic Trials.

Chuck Sloan completed the three-thousand-meter event in a time of 8:28.75. He took fourth in his heat.

The steeplechase final is scheduled to be run at 11:45 p-m Thursday.
