(Norman-AP) -- University of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops has dramatically changed expectations for the program in his first19 months on the job. Now, instead of being asked if the team can get the right number of players on the field, Stoops is being asked when the Sooners will win another national championship.

Stoops says he's pleased with the program's direction. He is convinced that the Sooners are headed back to collegiate football prominence.

Stoops says that he's enjoyed learning more about the history of the Sooners program and has developed more appreciation for what came before. In fact, Stoops has been making sure his players know about the program's tradition and their role in that tradition.
