Tulsa college student sentenced for molestation

(Tulsa-AP) -- A Tulsa college student has been given a split ten-year sentence for molesting a young girl. A Tulsa County District Judge sentenced 23-year-old Ryan Joseph Woods to five years in prison and five years probation. Woods pleaded guilty June 5th to three counts of lewd molestation.

Woods has been free on bond and has been allowed complete the summer school session at the University of Tulsa. The judge ordered Woods to return to court July 31st, when he will be jailed and sent to prison. Woods pleaded guilty to molesting the girl in her Tulsa home between March 1998 and March 1999. She was ten to eleven years old. He had apparently been a friend of the girl's family.
