(Ponca City-AP) -- A man has been arrested today by Ponca City police in connection with the stabbing deaths of Warren David Cook and Julia Bear. Bruce Edward Primeaux was arrested at his Ponca City residence on two complaints of first-degree murder.

Police say they believe Primeaux stabbed 76-year-old Cook and 61-year-old Bear sometime Wednesday afternoon at the couple's home. They say they believe robbery was a motive for the killings. And Primeaux's common-law wife, Velma E- Roberson and her son Billy G- Roberson were taken into custody last night.

The pair allegedly tried to destroy clothing believed worn by Primeaux. Police and Fire Department divers, along with deputies from the Kay County Sheriff's office, continue to search for the knife used in the killings.
