TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- A Delaware County deputy shot a man who took a clerk hostage early Friday at a Jay convenience store.
Authorities said the suspect held a man hostage with a knife at a Come and Go store about 3 a.m. They did not know the suspect's motive.
Customers were in the store at the time, but no other injuries were reported. After the deputy shot the suspect to end a standoff, the man was lifeflighted to St. John's hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Authorities had not released the suspect's name. His condition was unknown.
