(Tulsa-AP) -- A 65-year-old woman has been sentenced to serve ten years in prison for what the judge called the heinous treatment of two elderly women in her care.
A Tulsa County judge gave Almiethy Teresa Allison two consecutive five-year prison terms yesterday after making her watch a videotape of the purported abuse.
Allison had pleaded guilty in May to two felony counts linked to the treatment of two sisters who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. The sisters were 82 and 90 years old.
Allison's defense attorney says the sentence could be grounds for an appeal because it exceeds the punishment agreed to in a plea negotiation with prosecutors.
