(Stilwell-AP) -- Authorities do not expect to file charges against a country store owner who shot one of three juveniles he says broke into his store.

George Bowlin admits shooting the 16-year-old early yesterday morning when he saw the teen reach for a gun.

Adair County Sheriff Charles Hartshorne says the teen was treated at a local hospital and released to the custody of his parents. The two other youngsters haven't yet been arrested and no charges have been filed in the case.

The sheriff says Bowlin and his wife saw two of the teens standing at the store counter when he looked through the window. When he saw one of the boys reach for a gun, he fired two shots from a .410-gauge shotgun. One of the boys was hit by buckshot.

The three boys fled the store through an adjacent field.
