(McAlester-AP) -- Official word is in on what killed the brother-in-law of McAlester's police chief.

The state medical examiner says Troy E- Munholland died of blunt trauma to the head and that his death has been ruled a homicide.

Munholland's body was found in his home Friday morning in McAlester. He is the brother-in-law of police Chief Dale Nave.

McAlester police continue their investigation of the case, aided by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
