Mostly empty Web pages keep printing out
Q: Sometimes when I print Web pages, extra sheets come out with nothing but the tiny headers/footers.
It happens even when I reduce the size in the page setup. It happens in Netscape and in Internet Explorer. What causes this? Or what can be done to avoid wasting paper?
- J.B. - A: There is a lot going on behind the scenes when printing a Web page. You may never find what is sending the extra pages to the printer. I have this happen to me all the time as well.
What I do is utilize the Page Range feature to print only the pages I desire.
The Page Range option is in the Print dialogue box, called up by choosing Print from the File menu. Click the button next to Page(s) and type the desired range in the two option boxes.
In this case, I would type a 1 in each box - to print from Page 1 to Page 1.
If you wanted only the first two pages, type a 1 in the first box and a 2 in the second box.
Some programs have only one box to enter the page range. In this case, to print only the first page, type 1-1 in the box.
