Belo Corp. said Tuesday that its Internet subsidiary, Belo Interactive Inc., has named Wesley A. Jackson vice president/sales.

Mr. Jackson had been with E.W. Scripps Co., where he was director of vertical markets, and was previously Internet marketing consultant for Knight Ridder Inc.'s Lexington Herald-Leader in Lexington, Ky. He was also founder and partner of Lexweb.com, the first online directory, movie and apartment guide in Lexington.

Dallas-based Belo owns The Dallas Morning News, WFAA-TV (Channel 8) and Texas Cable News (Channel 38). In addition, the company owns seven other daily newspapers, 17 other television stations and various cable and interactive properties around the nation.
