(Pebble Beach, California-AP) -- Former Oklahoma State golfer Bob May was in the first group to tee off Thursday at the U-S Open.
And May was the first player posted on the leader board.
The 31-year-old May had a competitive first 13 holes, going two-under. But he bogeyed three of the final five holes to finish at 1-over 72.
May got into the Open by being one of the top 15 money leaders on the European Tour last season. He won last year's Victor Chadler British Masters.
He was a member of the 1991 N-C-A-A championship team and a three-time All American at O-S-U.
