LOS ANGELES (AP) — First he was a wrestler, then a politician. Add soap opera star to the resume of Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura.
Ventura appeared Wednesday on an episode of the CBS daytime drama ``The Young and the Restless.''
``Of course I had butterflies before my scene. I think every actor does,'' said Ventura.
Ventura said he became a fan of the show when he was on the road as a professional wrestler. The governor, who played himself, appeared in scenes with stars Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott.
``He said he was nervous but he seemed very calm and relaxed to me,'' said Scott.
Braeden added: ``To walk into a production and be as calm and collected as he was is remarkable.''
Ventura, who has appeared in such movies as ``Predator'' and ``The Running Man,'' was paid $706 for his appearance. The episode will air July 10.
Asked if he would consider becoming a soap opera regular, Ventura replied, ``I learned a long time ago, never say never.''
