A popular family owned Tulsa restaurant is closing its doors. The owners say they canâ€™t keep up with the rising cost of doing business.

After 25 years, the Harvest Buffet locked its doors for the last time Sunday afternoon.

Its smorgasbord was known for it's homemade food, dressings, sauces, and it's low price.

The owners David and Dixie Cobb say they didn't want to lift their prices to keep up with rising food and labor costs.

They say the strong economy also makes it easier to get out.

All of the more than 50 employees already have jobs lined up.

Family members are also tired of sixty-hour workweeks and always being on call.

Customers say besides the food, they will mix the cozy atmosphere.

â€It seems just like home. We've grown so attached to everybody here. It's really like home," says customer Betty Huckler

"That's the reason I keep coming back. The employees and the customers. They are just like regular family to me now,â€ says waiter Mark Kahrs.

Pieces of the Harvest Buffet will live on though. The owners are selling everything in the place.

Churches are buying tables and ice cream machines.

Monday morning at eleven, all the rest of the restaurant's items will go on sale for the public and other restaurants.
