Gas Gauge Report: Prices Rise in Tulsa and Around the U-S

The price of gasoline is rising once again in Green Country. Prices have jumped a dime this week to a $1.55 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline at most stations.

There are still a few places where you can save a few cents. The Flying J Truck Stop, 129th East Avenue and Admiral Boulevard, has gas priced at $1.53. It's a penny less ($1.52) at the Stop Inn, 5th Street and Utica Avenue in Tulsa.

Jack's Phillips 66, 117th E. Avenue and Admiral Boulevard, has their gas priced at $1.51. The lowest price Consumer 6 found in the Tulsa area is at the Albertson's located at 21st Street and Memorial Drive. This Albertson's store has their gas priced at $1.49 a gallon.

Even though prices at most stations in our area are above the $1.50 mark, they're still below the national average. Consumer 6 checked around the country to see how gas prices in other cities compare to Tulsa.

In Texas, Dallas gas stations have regular unleaded priced at $1.51. Houston's gas prices are the same.

Up in Kansas City, the gas prices top $1.60. The same price for can also be found across the Show Me State to St. Louis.

Out west, Phoenix has some gas deals starting at $1.39 a gallon. Denver gas stations are at $1.55. In California, gas prices in San Francisco are at $1.88, though prices are much lower in Los Angeles where a gallon of gas is $1.58..

In the eastern half of the U-S, Atlanta is lower at $1.41. Orlando is a dime higher at $1.51.

Up north in New York City, the Big Apple has bigger gas prices starting at $1.72.

The highest price in the country this week can be found in the Windy City. Chicago has broken the $2.00 mark. Gas prices can be found as high as $2.15 a gallon.

The lowest price found in the Lone Star State. Gas prices in Austin start at $1.32 a gallon.

The American Automobile Association predicts gas prices in the Green Country area will stay in the $1.50 range throughout the summer.
