Oklahoma City-AP) -- The Oklahoma Sooner women's softball team has made history.
The Sooners defeated U-C-L-A 3-to-1 to win the title game of the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City today.
The victory is the first national championship for the O-U softball team and the first time since 1994 that an O-U sports team has won a national title.
Officials say the eight-thousand-and-49 people catching today's title game is a record for a single session.
And they say total attendance for the event is a record, too. As many as 38-thousand-102 people attended the series.
That breaks the record of 27-thousand-553 set in 1998.
