OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Here are the conditions at Oklahoma lakes as reported Wednesday by the state Department of Wildlife
Conservation and lake rangers.
CENTRAL

Arbuckle: Elevation normal, water 76 and clear. Black bass good
on various baits near the shoreline; sand bass good on jigs and
inline spinners early and late; channel catfish good on live and
cut bait, 15-20 ft.; crappie good on minnows and jigs, 10-15 ft.

Hefner: Elevation normal, water clear. Channel catfish good on
worms, liver and cut bait; crappie good on minnows and jigs;
walleye fair on worms and minnows, and trolling crankbaits.

Konawa: Elevation normal, water 81 and clear. Black bass good on
plastic worms, 5-8 ft., in the weedbeds and cattails; channel
catfish good on chicken liver and cut shad, 15-20 ft., in the
discharge canal.

Murray: Elevation 5 ft. below normal, water 68 and clear. Black
bass fair on spinnerbaits and medium-running crankbaits; crappie
fair on minnows and jigs; channel catfish fair on cut bait.

Overholser: Sand bass good on spinnerbaits and minnows; hybrids
good on shrimp and cut bait.

Thunderbird: Elevation normal, water 60. Crappie good on minnows
and jigs, 3 ft.; saugeye good on minnows and jigs in the evenings
off points.

Wes Watkins: Elevation normal, water 60 and clearing. Black bass
good on spinnerbaits and lizards off points and near brushpiles;
crappie good on minnows and jigs; channel catfish good on dough
baits and punch bait; sand bass good on topwaters.


NORTHEAST

Birch: Elevation 3 ft. above normal, water murky. Hybrids good
on live shad and trolling; channel catfish good on cut shad on jug
lines and trotlines; crappie fair on minnows and jigs.

Carl Blackwell: Elevation 1 ft. below normal, water 70 and
murky. Black bass good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits; crappie good
on minnows and jigs; sand bass good on minnows and jigs; saugeye
good on minnows, worms and jigs.

Copan: Channel catfish fair on shad and worms in the flats;
crappie fair on minnows and jigs in creeks and river channels.

Eucha: Elevation normal, water 68 and clear. All fishing
reported good.

Fort Gibson: Elevation normal, water 70 and murky. Black bass
good on plastic worms and jigs, 4-6 ft.; sand bass fair trolling
crankbaits near riprap; channel catfish excellent on cut shad,
worms and crankbaits, 3-5 ft., near rocky shorelines.

Grand: Channel catfish good on cut shad and worms in the mud
flats around willows and rocks; crappie good on minnows and jigs
near brushpiles and willows.

Greenleaf: Black bass good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits near
shoreline; channel catfish good on shad; crappie good on minnows
and jigs near docks.

Hulah: Elevation 4 ft. above normal, water murky. Channel
catfish good with shad on trotlines and drift fishing.

Kaw: Sand bass good trolling crankbaits off sandy points;
channel catfish good on juglines with shad, and shad and worms on
rod and reel; crappie good on minnows and jigs, 8-14 ft., near
brushpiles and rocks.

Keystone: Elevation normal, water 75 and murky. Channel catfish
fair on cut shad.

Oologah: Elevation 1 ft. above normal. Hybrids good on white
jigs below the dam; channel catfish good on shad below the dam and
on worms at the Wiganon Bridge; flathead catfish good on shad below
the dam.

Skiatook: Elevation normal, water murky. Hybrids good on live
shad and trolling crankbaits; channel catfish good on jug lines and
limblines.

Sooner: Sand bass fair; channel catfish fair on cut bait and
live bait in the channels; crappie fair on minnows and jigs near
the highway and near brushpiles.

Spavinaw: Elevation normal, water 70 and clear. All fishing
reported good.

Tenkiller: Elevation normal, and water clear. Black bass
excellent on Carolina-rigged plastic worms and Brush Hogs in deep
water off rocky bluffs; crappie good over brushpiles using minnows
and jigs, 15 ft.; catfish excellent on stink bait and worms on the
rocks; sand bass fair trolling crankbaits.

Webbers Falls: Black bass good on spinnerbaits and plastic
worms; channel catfish good on shad on bottom; crappie fair on
minnows and jigs.


SOUTHEAST

Broken Bow: Elevation 1 ft. above normal, water 72 and clear.
Black bass fair off points; crappie fair in the creek channels.

Eufaula: Elevation 1 ft. above normal, water 69 and clear in the
east and murky in the west. Black bass good on soft plastic baits
and spinnerbaits in shallow water; sand bass good on minnows and
jigs near bridges and below the dam; channel catfish fair on flats
and rocks; crappie fair on minnows and jigs near brushpiles.

Hugo: Elevation 2 ft. above normal, water 71. Black bass fair on
crankbaits; channel catfish fair on cut shad; crappie good on live
minnows.

Pine Creek: Elevation 3 ft. above normal, water 64. Black bass
fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits, 6-8 ft., off points; channel
catfish good on cut shad and minnows in the creek and river
channel.

Robert S. Kerr: Elevation normal, water 70 and murky. Black bass
good on soft plastic baits, spinnerbaits and crankbaits, 6-10 ft.,
near rocks and rip rap; sand bass good on shad type lures, 10-12
ft., near the dam; channel catfish good on fresh shad or live bait,
3-10 ft., near the rocky shoreline; crappie fair on minnows, 8-10
ft., near structure.

Texoma: Elevation normal, water 66 and clear. Black bass good on
spinnerbaits off points; sand bass good on sassy shad, 5-10 ft.,
off points; striped bass good on live shad, 15-20 ft., at Little
Glasses; channel catfish good on cut bait, 5-10 ft., in the Washita
River; crappie good on minnows, 5-10 ft., near the railroad bridge.

Wister: Elevation 3 ft. above normal, water muddy. Black bass
good on plastic worms and dark spinnerbaits, 3-9 ft.; channel
catfish good on cut shad and chicken liver, 2-7 ft., near riprap;
crappie fair on minnows, 6-12 ft., near standing brush.


NORTHWEST

Canton: Elevation normal. Sand bass and hybrids fair drifting
slabs and live shad; crappie fair on minnows and jigs near islands.

Great Salt Plains: Elevation normal. Channel catfish fair on
shad and worms.


SOUTHWEST

Altus-Lugert: Sand bass and hybrids good on live bait and slabs
in open water; channel catfish good on live bait along the rocks;
walleye fair trolling.

Ellsworth: Elevation normal, water 66 and murky. Sand bass good
trolling crankbaits and sassy shad; channel catfish fair on chicken
liver and stinkbait.

Foss: Elevation normal, water 65 and clear. Saugeye fair on
medium-running crankbaits, 8-12 ft., along north shore and above
the buoy line; catfish good with cut bait and shad on juglines and
trotlines; hybrids and sand bass fair drifting minnows and shad in
35 ft., and on Rat-L-Traps along the face of the dam.

Fort Cobb: Elevation normal, water clear. Sand bass fair in the
evenings trolling around the dam; channel catfish excellent on cut
shad on juglines and cut shad and minnows on rod and reel.

Tom Steed: Sand bass and hybrids fair on large minnows off
points and trolling crankbaits; channel catfish good on minnows,
4-5 ft., on the rocks.

Waurika: Elevation 2 ft. below normal, water murky. Sand bass
and hybrids good on shad on the east shore in the early afternoon;
crappie good on minnows, 4 ft., near rocks.

All fishing is reported as slow at the following lakes: Atoka,
Draper, Fort Supply, McGee Creek.
