Street improvement areas which will affect Tulsa traffic include:
*New: Beginning on Monday, May 15: 99th Street and Memorial Drive – The two inside lanes will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays for four to six weeks for median modification and construction of a left-turn lane.
*OPen: East 20th Street South and Lewis Avenue – southbound curb lane on Lewis.
*Open: East 116th Street south between Hudson and Fulton avenues
50th STreet South/67th East Avenue between Sheridan Road and 51st Street south is closed to through traffic during street reconstruction for three to four weeks. Business access (Spudder restaurant, etc.) will be maintained.
81st STreet and Sheridan Road: Crews are installing a storm sewer crossing 81st Street just east of Sheridan. Workers are flagging traffic through the area; delays should be expected. Work has begun to reconstruct and widen this intersection to four lanes in each direction, as well as left- and right-turn lanes.
Archer street and Harvard AVenue Intersection: North- and southbound inside lanes are closed for four weeks during replacement of water line valves.
South Lewis Avenue, 41st STreet to Interstate 44: The northbound curb lane is closed during working hours for sidewalk construction on the east side of Lewis.
Riverside Drive, Houston Avenue to Southwest Boulevard: Traffic has been limited to northbound only and will remain one-way for about six months. Southbound turns are not permitted onto Riverside Drive between and including Houston Avenue and Southwest Boulevard.
The westbound lane of East 46th Street/47th Place south is closed to traffic between Mingo Road and 86th East AVenue for six weeks. Traffic will remain one-way eastbound during this street rehabilitation project.
East 76th Street South is closed at Sheridan Road for three months as part of construction to widen Sheridan Road to five lanes between 71st and 81st Streets. Nearby residents should use either 74th Street or 78th Street for access to Sheridan.
71st Street and Riverside Parkway: The center westbound lane on 71st Street is closed near Riverside, as well as the outside westbound lane on the 71st Street bridge over the Arkansas River. Construction of the bridge deck for the pedestrian/bicycle trail is complete, and crews are installing a chain-link fence and lighting for the trail. Additional work on the trails leading up to the bridge will continue through the summer.
61st Street, Memorial Drive to Sheridan Road: Two lanes of traffic are open on 61st Street between 76th East Avenue and South Sheridan Road. All four lanes will be opened after crews finish building a retaining wall. 61st Street is being widened to five lanes (center left-turn lane) between Memorial Drive and Sheridan Road.
41st Street Bridge over the Broken Arrow Expressway is closed through August for construction of a new bridge. Through traffic is blocked on 41st Street between Memorial Drive and Mingo Road.
Harvard Avenue, 31st to 41st streets: The southbound curb lane is closed during work hours for construction of curb, gutter and sidewalks.
