(New York-AP) -- The sale of the basketball that Wilt Chamberlin supposedly used in his 100-point game has been called off.

Officials at Leland's auction house say there's some question about the ball's authenticity.

The ball sold for over a half million dollars last month.

Kerry Ryman says he took the ball from the court after Chamberlin scored 100 points for the Philadelphia Warriors in a game with the New York Knicks in 1962. He claims the ball is the real deal.

Leland's president Mike Hefner also is convinced the ball is authentic. But he called off the sale after two people who were at
the game cast doubt on its origins after the sale.
