(Tulsa-AP) -- An alleged serial burglar was caught in the act by police during a smash and grab burglary of a Tulsa convenience store.
A Tulsa police officer confronted and pursued the suspect early yesterday morning. But police say the suspect escaped after crashing a stolen truck, fleeing into the woods and jumping into acreek to elude a K-9 officer.
Tulsa police detective Mike Eubanks says he believes that the man is part of a crew that has struck at least 16 other times. Police don't have a description of the burglars because they always wear hooded sweatshirts during break-ins.
The F-B-I and seven law enforcement agencies are investigating the burglaries. The smash and grab spree dates back to January 3rd.
