OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Kent Stanley, who coached Oklahoma City to NAIA championships the last two seasons in women's basketball, will not return because of an ongoing university investigation.

Players reportedly have said they were verbally abused by the coach. Stanley had been suspended with pay while the university made an inquiry.

Tony Sellars, sports information director, said the decision to not renew the annual contract was a result of the investigation. He would not comment on the investigation.

Stanley had been coach for five seasons and his contract expires June 30.

The university appointed Janell Jones interim head coach. She has been an assistant since 1998.
