(North Attleboro, Massachusetts-AP) -- Some members of a Massachusetts church have defied their town by praying in a park.
Seven people gathered for a Good Friday service at Veterans Park in North Attleboro even though the town refused their request for a permit.
The Sun Chronicle newspaper reports the members of the Twin Rivers Community Church weren't interrupted during the 15-minute prayer service
Park commissioners offered the group a chance to meet at another park in town, saying Veterans Park shouldn't be used for religious services.
The church says it was important to worship in a prominent place, and that the other park was too out-of-the-way.
