NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma signed junior college forward Ronnie Griffin to a national letter of intent Monday to complete the team's 2000 recruiting class.

Sooner coach Kelvin Sampson said he expected Griffin to be able to step in and help the team immediately.

Griffin, 6-foot-9 and 235 pounds, shot 54 percent from the field and averaged 12.5 points and 5.3 rebounds for Tallahassee Community College last year.

Tallahassee Community College coach Mike Gillespie said Griffin might be the most skilled post player in the country who was available.

Griffin began his collegiate career at Eastern Kentucky.
