(Dallas-AP) -- Officials at S-M-U in Dallas are investigating their men's basketball team for alleged sexual misconduct involving players and a cheerleader.

A Fresno, California police report shows the assault occurred at a team hotel March 10th a few hours after the Mustangs were eliminated from the Western Athletic Conference tournament.

No charges have been filed.

S-M-U officials in a statement say they're handling the investigation in accordance with the university's judicial process.

Head coach Mike Dement tells K-T-V-T T-V that the school is prepared to take action, if necessary.
