Dallas police today captured a former Irving carwash employee suspected of killing five former co-workers and critically wounding a sixth.
Robert Wayne Harris, 28, was found about 11:10 a.m. hiding in the kitchen of a residence in the 10400 block of Andover in northeast Dallas, said Dallas police Senior Cpl. Chris Gilliam.
Harris was taken to Irving police headquarters, where he arrived shortly before 11:30 a.m.
Cpl. Gilliam said police received information that Mr. Harris might be at the address, believed to be that of the his girlfriend.
Mr. Harris is a former employee of the Mi-T-Fine carwash at 600 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving. Police had named him as a suspect in the Monday morning attack.
Police also have called Mr. Harris a suspect in the case of an Irvingwoman who disappeared last fall. Sandra Gaye Scott was last seen at a gas station near the carwash Nov. 29. Her vehicle was found Dec. 3.
Killed in the carwash attack were employees Dennis Lee, 48, of Irving; Rhoda Wheeler, 45, of Irving; Agustin Villasenor, 36, of Arlington; Benjamin Villasenor, Agustin's brother; and Roberto Jimenez Jr., 15.
The sixth victim, Octavio Ramos, 36, of Irving, remained in critical condition today at Parkland Hospital.
