(Bentonville, Arkansas-AP) -- More Wal-Mart workers are entering the fray on whether to unionize. Workers at a fifth Wal-Mart store have asked to vote on whether to unionize.
Some employees at a Wal-Mart store in Abilene, Texas, have added their names to the list of workers petitioning the National Labor Relations Board to hold votes.
Meat cutters at a Wal-Mart at Jacksonville, Texas, voted to unionize five weeks ago. Since then, meat and seafood workers at other stores in Texas, Illinois and Florida have petitioned the board.
The United Food and Commercial Workers union has been trying to organize the stores for years.
The company announced after the Jacksonville vote that it would switch to prepackaged meat at 180 of its super centers including Oklahoma stores.
