McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- Jimmy Lee Harris, who is facing a variety of sex charges involving two teen-agers, has resigned as chaplain at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary.

Prison spokeswoman Lee Mann said Harris, 60, resigned earlier this month. He had been chaplain since September 1994.

Prosecutors charged Harris last month with lewd molestation, second-degree rape, engaging in child prostitution and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The charges involve two 15-year-old girls.

A preliminary hearing is set April 6.
