(Winston-Salem, North Carolina-AP) -- Illinois opened its N-C-A-A tournament schedule with a 68-to-58 victory over Pennsylvania. Frank Williams scored a season-high 21 points for the Illini, and Marcus Griffin added 17 points and ten rebounds.
They helped pick up the slack for Cory Bradford, the team's leading scorer, who missed his first six shots and finished with five points.
Ugonna Onyekwe had 17 points for the Ivy League champions, who finish the season 21-and-8.
Illinois moves on to face either Florida or Butler in the second round of the East Regional.
