(Washington-AP) -- The president of a group seeking to revoke President Clinton's law license said today that a delay sought by Clinton is outrageous and "is not reasonable by any measure."

Matt Glavin, head of the Southeastern Legal Foundation at Atlanta, offered the comment after Clinton asked an Arkansas committee to delay until after he leaves office any further proceedings in the effort to revoke his law license because of his alleged lies in the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

Clinton cited a clause in Arkansas court rules that permits "an extension of reasonable length" of time in answering the allegations. Today was the deadline for Clinton to respond to complaints served on him a month ago.

Clinton lawyer David Kendall said in a statement that they have filed an application with the Arkansas Committee on Professional Conduct. It asks for an extension of time for the president to respond, until 30 days after he leaves office.

The president signaled his intention to keep his law license on February 29th, when he paid 100 dollars in yearly dues to remain a member in good standing of the Arkansas Bar.
