CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Jason Williams scored a season-high 23
points and fellow freshman Carlos Boozer had 21 as No. 3 Duke beat
No. 20 Maryland 81-68 Sunday in the Atlantic Coast Conference
championship game.
The top-seeded Blue Devils (27-4) became the first program since
North Carolina State in 1974 to win consecutive outright ACC
regular season and tournament titles.
Juan Dixon led the second-seeded Terrapins (24-9) with 19
points. Maryland had to go the final 321/2 minutes without starting
forward Danny Miller, who injured his left ankle trying to block a
shot on a breakaway layup by Mike Dunleavy.
Maryland trimmed a 10-point lead to 56-52 with 8:50 left, but
Williams hit a 3-pointer and got a goaltending call, and Boozer
converted a three-point play and Duke was en route to its 11th ACC
crown.

CHICAGO (AP) -- A.J. Granger had 17 points, Morris Peterson added
14 points, four rebounds and three steals and Mateen had 12 points
and six assists as the top-seeded Spartans beat the Illini in the
Big Ten championship game for the second straight year.
The Spartans (26-7) closed the first half with a 20-8 run for a
35-27 halftime lead.
Frank Williams led the fourth-seeded Illini (21-9) with 11
points and Cleotis Brown had 10.
Cory Bradford of Illinois was elbowed in the face with 71/2
minutes left in the first half. early in the game He returned in
the second half but was 2-of-9 from the field and finished with 10
points on 4-of-15 shooting.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Marcus Fizer scored 22 points as the
top-seeded Cyclones (29-4) won the Big 12 tournament after winning
their first regular season title in 55 years.
Michael Nurse had 14 points and Jamaal Tinsley added 13 for the
Cyclones, who made 21 of 25 free throws. They used an 8-0 run to
take a 46-27 lead with 13:11 to play.
Eduardo Najera, who had led the second half rally against Texas
in the semifinals and finished with 31 points, led third-seeded
Oklahoma (26-6) on Sunday with 19 points.
