If you own a computer, you can go on-line to do some crime fighting. The Tulsa police department has a web site that makes it easier for citizens to identify wanted criminals. How safe is your neighborhood? You can now find out.

Want to know about the most recent crime in Tulsa? The police department's website has that information. There's a composite sketch of a rape suspect posted. The alleged rape occurred in the early morning hours of February 25th in south Tulsa.

The man spray painted the woman's face. Then he hit her with a telephone and the paint can. He also choked her with a scarf, and cut her phone lines. "We use traditional methods of getting this information out by telling the media," said Tulsa police department captain Paul Williams. "This is just one more way to put information out there."

You can even find out how many sex offenders live in your neighborhood. Just click on your zip code. If you see a one who lives close to you, click on their name and see their picture and find out about their crime.

In the near future, if a crime happens in your neighborhood, you'll be able to find out more about it. Tulsa crime statisitics will also be available at the touch of a button.

The T-P-D web site also has a section on unsolved homicide cases. Log on to see if you could help solve a case. Oklahoma's most wanted criminals are also listed on the site. If you supply information concerning one of the criminals, you could earn a cash reward. You could also assist in solving a missing person's case by helping detectives who have exhausted all leads, thereby relieving a family's pain.

The web site also has a frequently asked questions section (F-A-Q) to which contains basic information concerning the Tulsa Police Department and how you can help police officers. Detectives post new crimes and criminals daily on the web site at http://www.tulsapolice.org
